Todays "What is it?" is a Pine Needle and Quill Basket made by a Native American basket weaver.

Made in the early part of the 20th century, baskets like this were often made for the tourist market. Indians used their traditional craft skills to make objects that appealled to toursits. The colorful floral design is made useing dyed porquipine quills, and the basket itself is woven with pine needles.
